Group thinkers.
There is a term that relates to conformity, which is known as group think. Group think is the idea that if the majority of people in a group have an idea, the remaining people in that group will hop on board with the idea, even if they don’t agree, just so they don’t seem to be out of the ordinary. It is dangerous for people to engage in this single minded idea that if the more people agree with it, the better of an idea it is. This affects where a group of riff raff go to for a hangout, all the way up to whether or not a goverment will decide to launch a nuclear missile. From those two ideas, it’s simple to see how dangerous group think can be. Where the science of deduction comes into play with this, is that there are ways to tell whether or not a person is agreeing with the group, or honestly believe what the group is saying. A victim of group think generally will tend to have a slight hesitation, reluctance, or uncertainty to agreeing with what the group is saying, as if that person is doubtful of the words coming out of their own mouth. Generally, after all’s been said and done, that person will tend to keep to them self, have their arms crossed or somewhere in front of their body, or physically more distant from the group. Next time you’re in a group and notice a victim of group think, be sure to call them out on it. Ask them their personal opinion on the matter, either one on one, or while the group is still discussing the topic. The two of you might be able to sway the group to your favor, should you desire it. -SH. #Deduction #Sherlock #Sherlock Holmes #Group Think

How you type dictates much more than you think.
Many people become offended when somebody corrects them in person equally as much as on the internet or in their writing. Tell me, have you ever stopped to wonder why? You may have thought of it but buzzed it off, but chances are, you were right. At least, in the right direction. The truth of the matter is, the way someone write on the internet reflects their personality equally as much as them speaking to you in person does. You get a feel for how they are. I’ll try to sum this up quickly. I may be bored, but you never know when the good inspector will send me a text for help. The first tier of online typing would be the generic tlking lik ths, wth many splling ers to shrtn typ tme. These people tend to be very lazy and dull, but above all, they are the majority. They are the conformists, they are the ones you will forget ever meeting after your forced time with them is up, whether that forced time be high school or the like. Second tier has a bit more dignity to themselves. They tend they type normally, but will have their little moments, for example, a grammar/spelling mishap, where they will purposely [Or not] make these mishaps so they don’t seem above the conformists tier. They are generally the people who try to have balance amongst their friends because they have a much wider range of friends and aren’t as inclusive as their more prestigious friends would like to think. This tier also fixes their writing depending on which tier they’re talking to, but they can only get up to tier 3’s level in terms of colloquial writing. After that, writing final tier’s style makes them feel odd and they will revert back to this tier mostly. The third tier is a one up from the last, obviously. Their grammar and spelling is spot on, but punctuation is purposely left out. This could be for a number of reasons, however the primary reason being that they feel superiority over others, but use the lack of punctuation to seem as equals, for the other tiers rarely use punctuation as well, unless the conversation is more serious or angry/intense. Because of that, this tier omits obvious punctuation to make the other party of the conversation not feel inferior, although to the person speaking this tier, they clearly are. Another reason punctuation is omitted would be because the tier of people here are very energetic and smart, and the lack of a punctuation can suggest they change gears easily, and make odd transitions from one train of thought to another, although in their head, that train of thought makes perfect sense. These people also may be as smart as the final tier, but are more right brained, and artistic. The final tier is the most prestigious and formal than the other three. This one uses perfect spelling and syntax because this suggests intellectual superiority over others, as they write with an authority that is only seen by the other tiers in their school papers. This tier can be considered the elitists piss-offs, the pricks, etc. This tier of writers exercises their intellectual superiority and difference over the other tier by simply typing better than them. Because of that reason, many people who do type like this aren’t seen by tiers 1 and 2 as very friendly, although tier 3 may be friends with some of them, and even tier 2 will - because of their balanced nature- attempt to shape up their grammar and syntax to be on the same level as that of someone in this tier. This final tier tends to be used by people who are more left brained, scientific and logical, much like myself. Now that you understand the importance of how you write, test out the different tiers for yourself to see what I truly mean. -SH. #SH #Sherlock #Typing #Writing #Sherlock Holmes

Do they play an instrument, or are they just fit?
I see that you lot have fun learning to play instruments, one of the more popular being the guitar, bass, and other “rock” instruments. I’d go on a rant about how terrific the violin is, but I’m sure you couldn’t care less what I enjoy. Perhaps I could use this opportunity to explain to you the difference between an instrumentalist, and somebody who is quite fit. It is all in the hands. If you observe the hands of a person and see that their hands are rather callous and pressed on the tips of their fingers but only the tips of their fingers, while there are callouses on the sides of their thumb, you could gather that that person is a guitarist. The callous on the thumb is the definitive characteristic to separate the guitarist from the average instrumentalist. If the flat end of the last digit on the fingers however are what is calloused, that person obviously must play a more classical string instrument, such as the Violin, or the Cello. You could also deduce how experienced they are by how calloused or leathery those parts of the fingers are, how long they have played directly correlating to how “leathery” they are to the feel. However, if those callouses are on the palms of the person, that person is simply fit, and are into a physically demanding activity. For example, if the callouses reside on the upper palm where the end digits connected to the rest of the hand are feel-able on the palm, then there is a high chance that person is either a gymnast or a weight lifter, which can be determined by build size. If the center of the palm is mainly calloused and/or leathery, that person could most definitely be a rock climber, or a traucer (the word for a practitioner of the extreme sport parkour.). Again, build of the person can be a definitive characteristic of which sport he or she may practice, as well as how calloused can identify when they started. If the hands are more calloused than leathery, then the person is fairly new at what they’re doing, but if they are more rough and coarse to touch, then they have been doing it a longer time than most. -SH. #Sherlock Holmes #SH #Sherlock #Deduction #Guitar #Violin #Cello #Fit #Parkour #Rockclimbing
Induction vs. Deduction.
It has come to my attention many people make the mistake of not understanding what the difference between Induction and Deduction are. Normally I do not care much for trivial manners such as this, so I took the liberty of doing the research you should have done yourselves to point out the difference for you. Deduction is taking a group of facts that are already there and slowly breaking them down to come up with a tangible, logical statement or idea. For example, if I look at the attire of a man on the street and see that he is wearing a pair of muddy Timberland boots, I can begin to form an idea of his job. If I continue looking to see trace amount of paints on his jeans and the musk smell of beer or cigarettes, I could declare that he might be an architect. Because I used clues that were already there and I needed not to go anywhere to gather these clues, that would be Deduction. Induction is to go about and gather those facts as “clues”. From then once all the clues and ideas have been gathered, then is when I would conceive a conclusion from what I’ve gathered. An example would be to walk into a house, and notice that the place is fairly messy, perhaps a toy car on the ground or two. As I continue on, I can see that the floor is daily swept, and occasionally cleaned. As I continue on, I can see that there are some valuable things, but in the larger areas of the house, those things are at a peculiar height. Taking all of these observations and clues into account, I can conclude that the home has a child, if not two, depending on the size of the home to mess of the home ratio. That is induction. Now that I have “educated” you further, you can add more useless information to your little minds while I try my oh so hardest to forget what I just wrote. -SH. #Sherlock Holmes #Induction #Deduction #Mysteries #SH #Sherlock |
